Q1: What is a Kids Invent! Master Partner?
A: Individuals and organizations are welcome to apply to become a Kids Invent! Master Partner. If you are awarded a Master Partner license, you are entitled to the exclusive rights to Kids Invent! programs and products in a specified state, region, or country of your choosing. Master Partner agreements are for one year with renewals each year provided the Master Partner is active in delivery of the program.
Q2: What does a Master Partner receive for their exclusive rights?
A: The Master Partner receives five full days of training with the complete set of curricula consisting of camps, in-school, and after school applications. Marketing materials are included and with the license we include five full days of training. We provide support to assist the Master Partner in building the program in their territory through direct consultation, on-site visits, and communication exchanges. The Master Partner is also identified on our website directing customers in their territory to the Master Partner website or other modes of contact.
Q3: Can I sublicense to other organizations in my territory?
A: Yes! You may sell the rights to others to operate a Kids Invent! program at a school, a museum, or to a private organization.
Q4: What is included in the training?
A: In addition to all of the Kids Invent! published curricula, Master Partners can enroll staff and prospective teachers in the training workshops. The training is critical to the delivery of Kids Invent! curricula as the unique philosophy and methodology are essential to the operation of a successful program. Training is hands-on and engaging. For many educators it is a career changer!
Q5: Where is the training conducted?
A: We require a minimum of three days of training at your location. You may elect to have all five days at your location, or may choose to have the additional two days in our training workshops in California, Hawaii, or Seattle. You may also choose to attend training programs at locations around the world at the site of our other Master Partners. Expenses for travel and lodging are the responsibility of the Master Partner including the visit by our Kids Invent! trainers to your location.
Q6: What are the conditions of renewal as a Master Partner?
A: Renewal of the license depends only on development and expansion of Kids Invent! in your region.The license fee for the second year and beyond includes two days of training. Again, you may elect to have the training at your location or at one of our Kids Invent! training sites.
Q7: What else is included in the renewal?
A: We are continually developing new curricula! And with a renewal all of the new curricula is provided to your organization for use. We have multiple authors of Kids Invent! curricula and they are also receptive to crafting curricula based on your ideas!
Q8: Is it possible to include multiple countries or states in our first year Master Partner agreement?
A: Yes, but the cost for each country or state is the same. We also want the confidence that you have the resources to build the program in each of those countries or states before we approve a multi-license agreement.
Q9: What is the cost of a Master Partner license?
A: The fee for the first year is $5000 and 5% royalty on all sales. The second year and all years afterwards is $3000 with a 5% royalty.
Q10: What is the start date for the Master Partner license?
A: The start date is on the first day of the month that follows the signing of the agreement. If the agreement is completed October 4th, the start date would be November 1.
Q11: Why should I be interested in Kids Invent!?
A: Kids Invent! has a track record of success that should appeal to your business sense. It is one of the few educational programs that emphasizes learning through innovation, creativity, and inventing. As such it is one of the few programs that engages kids in 21st century skills, preparing them for success in whatever the future job market is.
Q12: In addition to After School programs what does Kids Invent! offer?
A: Kids Invent! has After School programs for K-3 kids and for older kids. We also have week-long camps for holidays and programs for teaching kids science in school (of course, through inventing).
Q13: Who is behind Kids Invent!
A: Our founders are the Executive Director of the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Fresno, Dr. Timothy Stearns; and Dr. Ed Sobey, President of the Northwest Invention.
